I got the Essure procedure done when I was 21. I already had three kids all boys and did not want to have anymore since I could hardly afford the three I had. I have just turned 21 and had my last son a week later. I got the essure done a couple months after I had him. Since then I have not gotten pregnant and the essure coils seem to be working. But a few years after I started having severe pain on my right side. It hurts to have intercourse sometimes and I always have migraines. I was told that I have endometriosis and that’s what’s causing the pain. But even after having it burned off and then taking medicine my right side still constantly starts to hurt. They found a polyp on my cervix but ruled out that it may be cancerous. I thought maybe it was causing the pain but no. They still tell me it’s endometriosis that’s causing the pain. But it’s always the right side. Sometimes I think it’s the coil that is causing the pain and I wish they could take it out. But they don’t check the coils to make sure they are still in the proper position. I wish I would have not let them give me the essure procedure but I was so young and let the Dr talk me into this new procedure. I wish I would of just told them I want the ties or cut instead.

Amanda, that’s what many women had felt when they started having Essure problems. Too late to know and wish we’d never have it done. I have the coils and hate it. I have pain all the time in my back. I feel like I’m giving birth and my insides are falling out. Bad procedure! I badly want the coils out!
I had it done in 2009. The first year was fine but after that I have had severe back pain, tingling in my hands and sore legs. I have gained tons of weight. I want them badbly. Sex is painful at times.
I am almost two weeks post hysterectomy, have been doing wonderful, no pain or anything. I feel great!
