I had the Essure procedure in January of 2012. At that time, I had a 25 month old little boy and a 9 month old little girl. My Mom was on chemotherapy, as she had just been diagnosed the previous July with stage 3 colon cancer. I couldn’t handle another baby, my plate was full. I had the Essure procedure and it seemed to go okay. In March of 2012 I started having severe migraines- up until then I had never had one. Those continued for months. I wrote it off as stress from two small babies, a husband who couldn’t help much due to work and being concerned for my sick mother. My Mom finished her chemo and my husband’s job changed, the migraines continued. I tried glasses to see if that would help, nothing helped long term. In October of 2013 I had a scan due to some cramping, they assured me everything looked good and said my springs were still in place just as they should be. In December of 2013 I signed up for college class while working at a school full time. In January of 2014 I had a late period… I found out I was pregnant with our third child. I had several complications during the pregnancy. I had complete preview up until nearly my 7th month, stayed dehydrated and was just lifeless. I started having regular contractions at around 6 months but never started to dilate so I was blessed to keep working. I failed my college classes. I delivered a healthy beautiful baby boy in September of 2014. He is a blessing to our family, even though he was a surprise and huge shock. I had my fallopian tubes removed this past January (2015). My doctor told me the Essure coils/springs were not in my tubes and my tubes had shown no signs of them coming out into my body. I have not been scanned but after reading stories of springs/coils getting stuck into other organs- I now plan to have a scan within the next few weeks.
When I say this please realize I would not change having our third baby for anything in the world… If you are truly finished with your family I would NOT recommend having this procedure done. I truly believe my migraines were related to the issue, as well as the fatigue feeling I had for months. I now hope and pray that these coils will not be found in my body. I have delivered three beautiful kids within 5 years and had two surgeries (Essure procedure and removal of tubes), my body has been through enough.
