Bilateral devices were installed improperly per CT scan – they pierced the fallopian tube and them migrated and perforated my uterus causing sepsis and bleeding. So much pain and mood swings. I had to have surgery to remove both fallopain tubes and repair the cornu of my unterus. This was a 10 hour procedyre and a painful recovery of lying flat for 3 weeks and missing work. My relationship fell apart and I am no longer with the man that I love due to the intense mood swings that caused tension to mount the entire time I had the device. I thought I was experiencing early menopause and tried herbs etc to no avail. I complained to the FDA right after the surgery.
I am astounded that Conceptus is protected from lawsuits from injury arising from this procedure! It is unconstitutional to strip a victim of their rights to recovery when a wrong has been done to them! The FDA is also at fault here. I cannot believe that we are being pushed around in this way.
No device should fail to the degree that a body part is completely ruined. I love the sly disclaimer that there are known risks, but the the risks DO NOT include damage to body parts that require permanent removal of said part such as a perforated colon which requires removal. That is where we need to focus this action – on what was not said in the risks. It has to come off the market before it tears another uterus or colon or gets completely lost in the body!It has basically destroyed a good part of my life that I cannot recover and I am being told ‘Sorry, can’t sue.’ BS
