Being a single mom and nearing the age of 40, I decided i would do myself a favor and get Essure. I had struggled with birth control pills because they made me a hormonal mess! So I was told with Essure i wouldn’t have this problem. And was encouraged to do Essure instead of the old fashioned tubal ligation from the advisors at Kaiser. So I trusted their advice since any negatives were never discussed. On Aug 2013, the procedure was actually really painful, but I was stuck and had to go on with it. It actually wasn’t till 8 months after the procedure that when i decided to have sexual intercourse the pain was so severe it felt like my uterus had gone thru a blender! I then developed an infection as well. Never have i ever experienced this before and I knew it was because of Essure. Almost a year later now, I struggle with daily pelvic pain and menstrual cramps, bloating, mood swings and cannot have sex due to extreme pain it causes. So every day I feel like I’m on my period except I’m not bleeding. I can’t even go over bumps because it hurts. And as the years go by, Essure gets worse. I now feel the urge to urinate frequently and wonder where these coils are. And what’s my quality of life going to be like in the future with these TORTURE devices inside me? In the Essure brochure they say you maybe will have to have a hysterectomy to remove them but fail to say this IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN REMOVE ESSURE! ! WHY ARE THEY DECIEVING WOMEN? There is no other way of removing them except by removing your fallopian tubes. I will like many other women, will undergo a hysterectomy due to the horrific side effects caused by Essure.
It’s been over a year since I’ve had the Essure implant. I bleed for over six months straight. I am in total pain. I just want to get mine taken out. I feel like I was cheated! I bleed constantly and I am in pain and I can’t figure out why I’m having so much hair loss! I’m at a loss to figure out who, what, where, I could possibly do to remove these before I’m one of the unfortunates that have to have a hysterectomy.
