My husband and I had discussed me getting my tubes tied so I made an appointment to see my Dr. They gave me all the information regarding me getting my tubelization and then when it was time to meet with the dr to see if thats the route I wanted to go they mentioned the essure. They told me all the pros about it and said because I am the only income in my household they would strongly recommend me having the essure procedure they gave me someinformation on it said they have been doing this for so long already and the woment they have done the procedures on were very satisfied and then after talking with my husband we did it. Anyways we had the appointment witht he dr and they said the actual procedure should take about 5 minutes it took like 45 minutes to have the coils inserted. Shortly after that I was cramping so bad. My periods got really heavy all this within a couple of days. I had to go for a f/u appointment in 2 weeks and i explained to the dr that everytime i move i feel a sharp stabbing pain inside she agreed to check me…but after her meeting with the other dr decicded there was no need to actually check me becuase they felt it was just muscle spasms…i told them no I would rather they check me this is not normal…they did not. They recommened i take Ibuprofen as needed for pain and inflammation. As i got home from that Dr visit i felt something come out of me. I was in such shock i could not move I just stood there. After a few second I made it to the restroom to realize I had passed a blood clot the size of a new born baby …the bleeding would not stop. I went to the nearest hospital where even the dr on site was not comfortable releasing me. She felt the coil was either misplaced or had punctured a small whole in my uterus. I was in so much pain that she had to release me becuase only the Hospital staff that had inserted the coils were the only ones who can remove them so she was told by the dr who had inserted them. He told the dr at the emergency room i was out to discharge me and have me go to theyre hospital which i did and they did an essure reversal. The drs gv me very lil info but when i came across one of the nurses she sd oh I remember you your the guinea pig they used for the essure they had never done that procedure on anyone so how do yiou feel?….Really??? Not the words I was wanting to ever hear. After a year of misery from the essure and essure reversal I had to have a hysterectomy because my period had gotten so bad. My cervix and uterus were both removed and I was able to keep my ovaries. The coils easily can be displaced. This product should not be recommened to anyone and in fact be removed from the medical practices. Something needs to be done so no more woman hav to endure the pain I have endured.
