I was a 24 year old young mother of 3 and healthy as can be! My husband and i decided that our family was formed and we werent supposed to have anymore babies. In 2011 I had the essure placed. About 2 years later, I starting having painful cramping through the month. Doctor said I had small ovarian cysts. So I ignored it for a few years thinking it was cysts, which I had never had before. I went back in 2015 for increased cramping throughout the month. They did an ultrasound and said there was some thing on the ovaries but couldn’t say if it was an implanted egg or cyst or what. they said comeback in a few weeks or call if pain gets worse. I ended up going back in a week due to pain. They said they didn’t know what it was, possibly cysts. They sent me home to tough it out. After a few weeks I was still having horrible pain. Long story short, the pain was constant and debilitating and interfering with night and day activities. I couldn’t care for my kids properly or sleep well. I had to be on pain meds consistently. Hot flashes, dizziness, extreme abdominal pain, heart palpitations, nausea, fatigue. I ended up having to have a hysterectomy April 12, 2016 because I wasn’t able to live with this anymore. I was only 28. My uterus looked fine but was inflamed. Around the coils there was cysts on each side. the recovery from surgery was horrible, having a hysterectomy is extremely painful but it was my only choice. The doctor said that they could not find what was causing the symptoms other than that it was, in the doctors opinion, a reaction to the essure coils. Now, 8 weeks later, life is so much better. Essure needs to be taken off of the market. it should not be pushed on women anymore! I go through my life now trying to inform women that essure can ruin your life!
