So in 2007 shortly after the birth of our son, my husband and I decided that we were done having children. Due to the fact my infant was in and out of the hospital with severe asta. We hard 3 boys between the two of us. So I went in for the procedure, they put me out even though its supposed to be a procedure done in office. I was in a lot of pai. Especially on the right side. So I went back to the office the following month for my post op with still a lot of pain. They did an ultrasound and said it was in the correct place. Still in pain three months later I had the histosalpingogram to check the placement of the coils and to make sure no due got thru the tubes. The radiologist said everything was great. So I just went on with my life even though I stll had pain. In September of 2009 I had been feeling really weird, my Mom said you are pregnant. I said I can’t be! Well the. I started thinking about my symptoms so I took a pregnancy test. I sure was! I was due estate, I had severe depression for the first half of my pregnancy, then when I was finally coming to terms found out that I had gestational diabetes. Which puts me at a greater risk of having diabetes later in life. So I finally get that under control then have to go on bed rest for the next 8 weeks due to preterm labor and being dilated at 30 weeks. I had to go to a specialist and my normal ob, due to the diabetes. Since I was bed rest my diabetes was now out of control and had to be on medication for it, I had to take medication every four hours for the preterm labor. Luckily I did have a pretty good delivery. So after my six weeks postpartum and dealing with postpartum depression. I went in to have my tubes tied and they were supposed to take the coils out. Well after my surgery I was in a lot of pain and she didn’t take the coils out. The dr told me it would be a major surgery to do it because she would have to cut the tubes. Well I honestly think this was a lie. Because after having really heavy periods and lots of pain my ob (which didn’t do my essure or tubal due to her working at a catholic hospital) went in and did a thermal ablation and diagnostic lap said that the coils are now in embedded in my uterus and the only way to take them out is by doing a hysterectomy. I have been dealing with all this pain untill my kids get older so I can have the hysterectomy. I am a stay at home mom. So having the surgery would hopefully help my pain but having 4 boys to care for makes it hard for me to have it. I hope my story will help some of you debating on getting the essure procedure consider other options. Yes I do know that as with all contraception nothing is 100% but a hysterectomy. But the pain and discomfort and major surgeries that women have had to go thru to fix this is not worth it.
