I had the Essure coils put in back in April of 2012. Everything seemed fine for about the first 3 or 4 months then I began gaining a lot of weight and became very depressed. I suffered extreme migraines and excruciating pains in my lower left abdomen and my lower back. My doctor seems to think it’s due to PMS because the symptoms get worse during that time of the month.
One year later I’m beginning to get sharp tingling sensations in my legs. I’ve had 14 yeast infections and 9 UTIs in the past 6 months. I’ve never had either of these my entire life until now. I get at least two migraines a week that literally have me locked in a dark sound proof room that I’ve had to miss days of work for. This nausea is worse than when I was pregnant.
If I could go back to the day I chose this procedure I would have never made the trip to the hospital. I cried the entire time and when they took me back into the surgery room I began begging them not to do it. They strapped me down to a table and put a mask over my nose and mouth and told me it would be all right that I was just scared. The next thing I know is that I’m waking up in the recovery room and I had bruises on both arms where they had me strapped down so tightly.
If your reading this and debating on whether to have this procedure or not, I would highly recommend against it. The doctors do not have enough knowledge on the side effects of the Essure coils or they just flat out decide not to tell you. It’s your body that suffers the effects later. I wish I would have done my research before having it done because now I’m trying to get them removed and it cost more to have them removed than it did to get them inserted. If anyone knows of a low cost way to have these coils removed, please email me with the information. I would greatly appreciate it. My email address is farrischristina317@gmail.com.
