Hello my name is Corrina. I had the Essure implant procedure done December 2011, I was 37 years old. I have had issues with my health since. I can’t tell you how exhausting and frustrating it is to feel the pain that is felt daily and test after test results come back normal. Abdominal pain, bloating so much you can’t eat, pain so bad it affects your daily life. Working, sitting, moving, sex isn’t even a thought some days. Laying in bed flat not moving is the only way to feel a little comfort.
I have read some of the women’s stories they have written and I couldn’t believe my ears! First I want to say to every woman that has had this procedure…I am sorry and that it can get better. At least that is my hope. I can’t believe we pay doctors and medical researchers the money we do and the trust we give them to keep us healthy, only to find out they are doing everything to benifit them and not you. My doctor recommended Essure as I didn’t want kids and didn’t want to continue taking the pill. She said she had the procedure herself and it was a breeze. Did she really or was it just a ploy? Taking her word, shes my doctor if I can’t trust her who can I trust, and doing a little research by visiting their website I thought yes this does sound like something for me. Very little down time and a simple procedure, knowing I couldn’t afford to be off work; I did it. I should have done more research!

I have been in and out of the doctor office, urgent care several times which means missed work on top of medical bills. Blood drawn, urine test, endoscopy, MRCP scan are just some of the tests they have done. I just thought it was something I was eating at first and chalked it up to acid reflux. Then the pain started on my right side, the bloating and cramping was worse now more than ever before. I was taking naproxen daily sometimes twice just to get the pain to go away. Headaches were so bad I couldn’t even look at my computer screen at work. These symptoms were not only when I had my period but all month long. Bloating so bad that I couldn’t eat. Abdominal pain so bad it literally felt like a knife was coming out of me. I kept telling the doctors I wish you could jump inside my body and feel just for 5 minutes the pain I feel.
It has been 2 years now and I am still fighting the battle. After all of these tests the last two years, I have an appt to see my ob/gyn that recommened this procedure, so I can tell her to take it out. If I could have one wish it would be to have the Essure removed from the birth control list never to be used again and every woman that has it and has had the troubles get it removed! This, not only for me but my husband and family has taken away 2 years of our lives.
Don’t let it get you down, together we can end this! Take care!
