I had my first daughter in February 2003. She was born prematurely at 25 weeks. She only lived for 8 hours. In November 2004 my second daughter was born prematurely at 24 weeks. Today she is a happy and healthy 8 year old. After the birth of my second child I was diagnosed as having an incompetent cervix. In February 2009 my third daughter was born full term and she is a happy and healthy 4 year old. 9 months after the birth of my third child I found out I was pregnant and miscarried. At this time my husband and I decided our family was complete and didn’t want to go through the pain of losing another child.
I went to the doctor to discuss my options about getting my tubes tied. The doctor talked about the Essure procedure. My husband and I discussed it and we didn’t find any bad reviews about it. So we were pretty much sold on Essure because of its faster recovery time and confirmation test. I had the procedure done in July 2010. Everything went fine and I went 3 months later for the confirmation test. The test showed the left tube was blocked and the right tube was blocked as well but they were unable to locate the coil on the right side. I had a follow up test which still confirmed blockage on both sides but still couldn’t see the coil on the right side. The doctor was confident the procedure was successful.
Since the procedure I have very bad abdominal pains, cramping, lower back pain and numbness, tingling and pain in my arms almost daily. I’ve had x-rays, blood tests and other tests done to find out if something was wrong but all tests came back normal. I always told my husband I thought it was from the Essure procedure but didn’t know for sure until I stumbled upon this website and read all the stories. I do not recommend ESSURE to anyone. Of course I’ll probably have to suffer with these pains for the rest of my life because I don’t have any insurance.
