I had the procedure in December 2007 after the birth of my 2nd child. I chose the Essure instead of a tubal ligation because I didn’t want surgery. I didn’t really think about it again until May 2010 when I found out I was pregnant! Obviously it didnt’ work. I had to have a c-section due to fibroids and had a tubal ligation at the same time. Now after reading these stories I realize I had some of the other symtoms as well. I had some depression issues in the past but the past few years have been really bad. I have migrains, I ache all over almost all the time. I’ve gained weight and don’t seem to be able to lose it. I’m only 42 and feel like I’m 50 or 60. Before the Essure my periods were normal to light, lasted 3-4 days. After the Essure my periods were very heavy, a lot of cramping and lasted 5-6 days. I was always tired and borderline anemic. Now after the tubal ligation I still have the achiness, depression and feel ‘not all there’ a lot. My migrains are not too bad right now and my period seems to be leveling out. I don’t know if all of these are from the Essure, but I’m pretty sure some of them are. I hope this thing gets pulled of the market. More research needs to be done on things that are to be implanted in people! Any one remember the Norplant? No? They pulled that off the market too. I had one of those too. It is really scary how much we trust the doctors and the researchers at the FDA when they don’t seem to know or CARE that these things are dangerous.
