I am a 25 year old mother of two. Luckily, one boy and one girl. After my son, who was born on April 10th, of 2014, I decided for personal reasons to not have any more children. I was on Medical at the time, and my Dr, who mind you, was a WONDERFUL OB and did an amazing job delivering my son, insisted on getting the Essure because it was a less invasive procedure than me having my tubes tied. I begged him to just let me have the surgery, as I did not want anything foreign going into my body. That procedure was not approved for me, so on with the Essure I went. I had complications during my delivery, so this procedure was extremely uncomfortable to me, as the pain meds they gave me did not work.
After the procedure itself, I was fine, cramping as normal with what they told me, etc. When I was supposed to have my first period, I bled for a straight two weeks. Since than, things have not been the same. I got this done is August of 2014, it is now Nov of 2014. I also had some more serious side affects that I have no been able to go over with another OBGYN, since I switched insurances. Once I see my new OBGYN, I will be talking to them about everything and hopefully getting these removed from me. I have been miserable every day since. I can’t even have intercorse with my husband because something is just not right.
Personally, in all of this happening in such little time, I do NOT suggest any woman getting this procedure done, and fighting to just get something normal.
Good luck to all the other women out there…
