hello i had the essure implants then called stop inserted as part of a study group being run in adelaide australia by professor john f kerrin (deceased) in 2002, i was part of that study group for the next 5 years. my implant story is this. no i have never been pregnant however as time as progressed i am now in a position where i am going to doctors as my health and mood swings are not good and am so concerned that it is the essure devices that i am ready to have them removed to see if it helps although they say it does not effect hormone my moods are extreme especially before menstruation where i lose massive clots similar to after birth and can only express the pain is similar i cannot function normally during this time and am mentally and physically drained to a point where it takes me the next 2 weeks to recover. i have minor joint pain and have been blaming it on getting older however it comes and goes and relates to nothing i am doing at the time. it is actually my partner who seems to think that it may have something to do with the essure devices and is insistant that i seek medical oppinion on having the devices removed i joined the study group as it was put to me that i would be assisting 3rd world countries to be able to have non surgical tubal ligation and theref0r do my bit to reduce world poverty and also because i have a heart condition that makes me a risk under aneasthetic which i am scared i will now have to have 12 years later in order to have the devices removed and to improve my life. this is my story and i hope others are not ever in this position.
