After having three healthy children, my husband and I decided we were done. In the summer of 2011 I had the Essure procedure done. Of course my Doctor had assured me it was safe, with minimal complications.
Immediately following my procedure I regretted doing it. The next day I felt like something was stabbing my ovaries out! I have mostly just had trouble on my left side. I had extreme sharp pains that can last minutes or be over as quick as they started.
In March 2013 I found out I was pregnant. I immediately found an OB (I had recently relocated to Texas from Michigan so I was unable to see the doctor who did the Essure). I had blood taken to make sure there was no risk of ectopic pregnancy and thankfully there was none. I was put on progesterone due to my levels being slightly low. This had not happened to me with my other pregnancies. I had a sonogram at 6.5 weeks and everything looked good. I went in at 10 weeks and the baby’s heartbeat had stopped beating at 7.
I had read many stories of woman getting pregnant and having healthy babies still after Essure so this came as a shock. I have an appointment with my doctor in a month and I intend on discussing why this happened. And I am going to ask if he can check my Essure anyway to see why I am having such pain. I am glad to see that I am not alone but sorry that other woman have had to suffer as well.
