I got Essure after my fifth child was 3 months old in 2013, My OB told me it was safer then getting my tubes tied and easier with much less recovery time since it was done in an office instead of a hospital. During the procedure my fallopian tube started to spasm so the put me under anesthesia anyway, it took way longer then they originally told me and when I woke I had horrible cramping and a huge fat lip (I guess they caught my lip while putting the tube down my throat) but otherwise they said the procedure was a success, so a few months later I went back for a dye test to ensure the tubes had been properly blocked, which they said they were all the way closed, I told them then I was having severe pain on both sides with cramping all the way down my legs along with head aches, heavy bleeding, and my stomach was very bloated (at this point I was not too concerned because I figured these symptoms would fade over time, boy was I wrong) the Dr told me ‘of course there will be some discomfort, after all there’s a foreign object in your body’, So I carried on, its been 2 1/2 years and the cramping has NEVER stopped, I have them all day every day to where now its normal, I have a headache everyday, I basically only notice when I don’t have one now, which is hardly ever, my stomach sticks out and is hard and bloated about two or three weeks of the month, My monthly cycle it much heavier and way more painful then ever before, I am tired all the time, I have these weird spams all the time I can feel in my abdomen, I get dizzy all the time, pain during intercourse. If I had known what hell this was going to turn out to be I never in a million years would have had this done to me, I am so tired of being in pain! but I am having a very hard time finding a Dr that will remove them in my area, and we have eight kids so I cant afford to travel somewhere to have this done.
