I had the Essure procedure in November 2011 then the ablation in December 2011. My OBGYN said that I had to have permanent birth control before the ablation was performed. In Februray 2012 I had the HSG to be sure I was blocked. Once he confirmed that I was blocked he took me off the pill.
I started putting on weight in January 2012, I had bowel movement issues which have now subsided but I have gained 30 pounds in the last year since the procedure. I have tried everything to lose weight and I cannot, I never had issues losing weight. I feel bloated and feel tired. The OBGYN said that the nickel in the coils is so small that its like wearing nickel earrings and should not be an issue. But did bring the allergy possibly up.
I am not certain if I am allergic to Nickel but I am gonna find out. I also brought my concerns to his attention and he felt it was not due to the Essure procedure. But I feel differently and I feel that it is a lost cause trying to get him to help or acknowledge it. At this time I am very upset with my weight gain. I do not feel attractive at all. I am working with a doctor in regards to my hormones and I am working on getting my hormones balanced. I feel that is not even working to help lose weight. The only thing I feel that is the main problem is the Essure procedure. I immediately started gaining weight afterwards.
I am looking into getting the removal but need more information and a list of reputable doctors who are doing the removal procedure that are in my area or close to where I live. I also would like to know if anyone who has had the removal; how it has helped them, did they lose the weight gain. Did they get back to normal and their experience.

I had Essure put in and only weighed 116 pounds at the time and have never been over 118 pounds. I have severe bloating, fatigue and weight gain and a few months after procedure am at 128. I’m having essure removed as soon as possible!
