Hello,
I’d like to take the time to share my story about the little E-Devils, E-Hell a/k/a Essure Coils.
First let me start by saying I am only 31 years old. Back in 2012 after having my 5th child, this was a blessing! My doctor recommend that I have the Essure Procedure as my preventive for birth control because my husband and I decided we didn’t want any more children due to the problems I incurred with my pregnancy. The doctor told me it wouldn’t be painful, that it was done in clinic and stated the fact that most woman are doing it now because the regular tubal wasn’t done as much anymore. She said that there wouldn’t be any heavy cramping after about 2 weeks. She told me I would recover within a day or so. WELL here it is over a year and half (21 months to be exact), I have suffered every month with heavy bleeding/periods that would last 7-10 days with some menstrual cycles coming twice a month, passing a number of blood clots, sever cramping that at times I have had to go to the ER, sever pelvic pain, back pain and even headaches along with some cramping in my legs. Let’s not forget to mention the unexplained rashes at times. I went to her several times to let her know about the pain and bleeding, she would advise me that it was just from me having my child back in Dec of 2011 and that I suffered from round ligament pain syndrome and that my body was aching because I had 3 other pregnancy, and the last pregnancy before my baby was a set of twins. Basically it was the normal “wear and tear” of a woman’s body after having 5 kids. So I finally gave up reaching out to her. These last 3 months have been horrible for me, since October 2013. I finally got back in to see a different OB/GYN in Dec. 2013 and he said to prevent all the pain and bleeding I am suffering from they need to remove the Coils of the Essure Procedure, but with the way they may be sitting and all the problems I complain about that it didn’t seem logical to remove just coils, because they run the risk of tearing my tubes and uterus. So I was scheduled to have a possible hysterectomy in December 2013 to save my body from any further damage and to get some relief.
Well after he discussed the issues with the original implanting doctor, who then had me take the HSG Test and then come see her. This is where we realized that my left coil had migrated. That is what has been causing me the pain. They aren’t supposed to move they say. Wasn’t sure if it perforated or punctured my tube or if it became intact with my uterus. So she recommended to take my tubes to insure removal of the coils, once in surgery she would see the damage and to see if she has to further the surgery by a hysterectomy or not. (HSG TEST was very PAINFUL!)
I’ve had my surgery and had my fallopian tubes removed with the coils, Novasure Ablation with a D & C done. A month after surgery and I am still in pain and bleeding. Since surgery I have been to doctor twice, the ER once, and now the ending status is, my female insides are gone and the Novasure failed and that it’s time to take the rest of my female organs on January 23. This is wrong on so many levels being only 31 years of age.
I am not sure what I can do with all this, but if I can or could get my story to other women about how this procedure is SUGAR COATED by doctors, and how much pain I have suffered and how many other woman have as well and how the ending results have turned out for most of the woman involved, that would make me happy and be a reward in its self. For every woman saved from this means more than words could explain.
I think it is unfair that women like me and others around the U.S. have to suffer because the story and side effects of the Essure procedure are covered up by doctors. I was promised it wouldn’t be a bad experience and now I am about to lose my womanhood!
These little monsters are protected by law, it’s time for all of us one by one or all at once take a stand all over the U.S. to help remove this procedure from the market to save other woman from being implanted with these useless and painful devices.
