After having 2 c-sections, and getting my incision infected both times, I knew I was done having kids. When I explored my options my doctor had suggested getting the essure done because it was less invasive. I liked the idea of my body creating its own natural scar tissue. When I first got the procedure done I felt fine the next day,and the following couple of weeks. Then one day I woke up with this exreme pain in my left lower abdomin. I found it hard to sit, and sometimes standing was extremely hard. I knew itwas time to go to the doctors. After multiple internal ultrasounds the doctor thought it was a cycst on my right ovarie, but the pain was coming from the left side. Back to more ultrasounds and taking birth control in hopes it might just be endometriosis. The pain just would not go away. I heard that essure had nickle in it, but was never informed during the consultation. I asked my doctor about it, but he was not the one who did the consultation. Then the essure became the focus. Today I had my fallopian tubes removed in hopes that the pain will go away. I really hope everyone knows the true risk that can happen. I can’t prove that it was the nickel, for all we know it could have been the essure itself. If I could go back I would have chose to have my tubes tied.
