Three years ago my doctor told me I was at risk for blood clots taking birth control pills (which I have taken for over 20 years). Also my periods were heavy, painful, awful, and getting debilitating. My doctor told me about the ablation method that might help this, and about Essure. The appointment was made in October of 2012 to have the miracle ablation done and to have tubal ligation( I have no kids and don’t want any) so this seemed like the best course for me. After I awoke from the surgery, my doctor waited til I got home from the hospital, to have me call her so she could explain over the phone that the ablation failed , due to my uterus being too small, and she perforated through it with her laser. Why wasn’t testing done before this procedure to see if my uterus could handle it? I felt slighted, and so the procedure was abandoned, but she proceeded with the tubal ligation. For 1 year, I have had the absolute worst periods. Heavy, painful, and my last period was only 17 days since the previous one. Not to mention the gashing pains in my sides that happen all the time. So much so that when this stabbing pain occurs, it has almost become a regular occurrence every day, and still almost brings me to my knees. It’s almost a gnawing pain that’s always there. I feel like something foreign and metal is stuck in my body and that it’s hurting my insides. I’m not sure what to do. I definitely want a new doctor. I guess I’ll have to make an appointment with someone new and hope it doesn’t take 2 years to get in…meanwhile dealing with pain and worries.
