I had the Essure procedure done in 2009. Since then, I have had problems with frequent urination, pain during intercourse, exhaustion, painful menstrual cycles, heavy bleeding, nausea, sore lower back, low grade fevers, and cramping. The procedure punctured one of my tubes and I had to have a tubal. When the doctor did the tubal, he said the coils were now a part of my tubes and could not be removed. I did not think the Essure could be the problem with all of my recent health issues. (I’ve always been very healthy and active). I’ve seen the doctor for severe bleeding, frequent urination, had a tonsillectomy thinking my low-grade fevers were from an infection. Tonsils gone and still the fevers. I am allergic to nickel. I was told that the nickel would not affect me and that the device was mostly titanium anyway. When I did see my doctor, he told me that any of these symptoms were not the result of Essure; that was two years ago and still the same problems. As I started to research, I have found your site and so many women who have suffered the same side effects as me. It is reassuring to know that this is just not in my head. Now let the search begin to find someone who can get these things out of me and who will be understanding. My husband is a Neurologist and can attest first hand all of the side effects I’ve had from this. If anyone knows of an OB in Utah that is familiar with Essure removal, will you please post it on this site? Thanks so much and thank you for starting the site, Erin.
