I am 27 years old. I had the essure procedure done in 2009 after having my 4th child. It was painful for a few weeks, kinda felt like labor pain, I expected that. Later I was diagnosed with PCOS. After giving birth to 4 children and obviously not having trouble conceiving I am diagnosed with something that is known for causing infertility. I’ve had symptoms ever since the procedure but never linked it to the procedure it self or linked the procedure to PCOS. My hormones are out of whack, thinning hair, acne, mood swings, excessive hair in unwanted areas, pain in my abdomin and back at least on a weekly basis. And for years I blamed it all on PCOS. The past several months I have had more severe symptoms, extreme exhaustion, excusiating pain in my abdominal area, headaches and running a low grade fever for over a month now. I have been miserable and stay in my bed 80% of the time. at one point I thought I was truly dieing. I even thought I had ovarian cancer. I trust my doctor and even after him insisting on the essure procedure I continue to trust him completely. It seemed like a wonderful, easy, no risks option and the makers of essure fooled him as well as all the other poor women that have had to suffer due to their mistake or misrepresentation of product and their side effects. For the last 4 1/2 years I have not been myself. I have struggled on a daily basis all because of Essure.
