My name is Krystal Beamer and I am 33 years old. I had the Essure procedure done in December 2011, 6 months after I had my third child. Everything went fine with the surgery but afterward I had a whole lot of excrutiating pain in the upper parts of my stomach. I called the doctor and she said everything was fine and just to take my pain medicine. I was on pain medicine for the first couple months until the pain finally went away. I had the dye test done 3 months after the procedure and everything checked out great, the tubes were completely blocked and I was good to go. In May 2012 I had missed my period and didn’t think anything of it until I didn’t get my period in June also. So I took a pregnancy test and yup it was positive. I called my OB/Gyn and she had me come in and check everything and yes I was 8 weeks pregnant. She was in shock and said I was her first to become pregnant after the Essure Procedure. She assured me that everything would be fine and no harm would come to the baby with the coils still in the tubes. I had baby #4 in April 2013 and I thank the Lord everyday that she is healthy and happy and I am so glad God has put her in my life but now I need to decide if I want to possibly have more children or go get the regular tubal surgery done. If I would have known all this was gonna happen I would have gone with the regular tubal procedure to begin with. After reading and hearing all the different side effects other women are having all I can do is hope and pray those coils stay put and I do not get any side effects in the future. I am to young to have a full hysterectomy. Thank you for allowing me to share my story.
