i received the essurre implant 5 years ago. I had no problems until recently. I began to feel cramping and bloated. I felt as if I was pregnant due to a ‘heavy’ feeling I developed. I would tell my husband I felt like something was inside of me. I told my gynococologist about my symptoms and he suggested I provide a urine sample to test for a bladder infection.
i came up positive for a bladder infection and was prescribed an antibiotic which did not help me feel better. Next, the doctor tells me although my urine tested positive for the infection in his office the lab results stated I did not have an infection!
i returned to the doctor and he provided a sonogram which showed a ‘foreign object’ in my uterus. the MD immediatetlyknew the implant dislodged and made its way into my uterus. He immediately sent me for a catscan which validated his belief. A piece of coil is lodged in my uterus!! The catscan also showed a ‘growth! In my bladder which forced me to immediately visit a urologist. The urologist exoned me and found a polyp in my bladder! This is all too much to take in.
I have a planned surgery for the end of the month to remove the coil in my uterus and the polyp in the bladder. Two surgeons will provide the surgeries on the same day at the same time.
i wonder if the polyp is related to the coil.
I am a perfectly healthy person with no other medical issues. i wish I never put any foreign objects in my body unnecessarily. I wish I could remove the entire implant but that would a hysterectomy. Again, I wish I never out any metal in my body and wish I could back time.
