First I will preface by saying I am a registered nurse and understand there may be complications with any procedure but I also understand that side effects should be provided up front to medical providers before using using a company’s product. Mine were not inserted under pretenses of research or experimental. This product had been approved by the FDA, there fore the ‘side-effects’ should have been known. I had my essure plugs inserted in July 2008. Like many others, this was expained as a very simple procedure with no side effects to be done in conjunction with an endometrial ablation to ensure there could not be any unwanted pregnancies. I have no problems with the sterility, and no complaints; I just wish it would have been made clear at the time I was deciding on using the plugs – the complications that would follow. Since that time I have been to the OB-GYN on many occasions for lower abdominal and groin pain and received no real answers. Since seeing Erin on the Doctor’s the other day I now feel I have an answer. Other ‘side effects’ I have noticed, along with many of you, is the weight gain, tiredness, and painful intercourse. At this time my right ovary is beginning to enlarge and noone can find a reason……HUMMMMM.
Thanks for listening,
