I am currently 28 and I was 25 when I had my last child and the doctor recommended doing the Essure procedure to tie my tubes because it was less expensive and I could return to work the following day if I wanted. I went through the entire procedure with no problems until about 4 months after the surgery and one month after the die test I started to notice minor issuses. I already had an allergy to metals and my doctor was aware of this before the Essure was put in. I began with major bloating that made me look as though I were 7 months pregnant and even had people come up and ask when I was due.
Over the last 2 years I have made numerous appointments to have everything checked out and now the doctor is wanting to do a laproscopy to check for endometriosis. I know that the Essure is my cause of problems because I didn’t have this reaction when I was on the pill or when I had the Mirena IUD.
I keep telling my doctor that the Essure is the propblem and he kept telling me it has to be something else. I’ve been checked for fibroids, cysts and now they want to do the endometriosis test which terrifies me. I have also tolds my doctor to just do a partial hystorectomy because I’m not having anymore babies and I want the pain gone. He insists that I am over reacting and that spending the money on the laproscopy will be a better course.
About a month ago I started developing worse pain to the point that I could not even walk without the help of my husband. I told the doctor again of this problem and was told to go to another doctor because he could no longer schedule any surgeries because he was retiring in 2 weeks.
I have come to fear that monthly cycle and also being intimate with my husband due to the pain. I am planning on a second opinion but fear the same response.
Thank you, Mary
