I just finished reading a few women’s stories. I am 36 years old and I am somewhat ashamed to say that I didn’t pay attention to potential side effects. My Essure was placed in April of 2013. The doctor and pamphlet convinced me this was the newest and best procedure to prevent pregnancy. My two girls are 10 years apart and I was not going to repeat that decade difference again. Until recently nothing was really bothering me or noticeable. Now, from reading other stories, a lot of things have become apparent. One lady had said that her acne was horrible. I haven’t gone 1 day in two years without some type of blemish or many for that matter. I haven’t suffered from any general pain until recently. It has become almost unbearable to have ANY type of intercourse. My s/o has been teasing me over the past year or so saying that I was going thru menopause. Now I wonder if the implant had something to do with it. I have hot flashes, fatigue, and the mood swings are ridiculous. I suffer from degenerative osteo arthritis but that too has become horrible. I never was tested for any allergies to nickel. Maybe I should’ve thought of that because I am allergic to stainless steel. I wonder if that’s not part of the problem. I’ve even been tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis because I’m in so much pain. Which the tests came back negative. My question is, now, where do I go from here?
Hi Melissa! I have a appointment next week to get Essure out and I am having second thoughts about it! I don’t want to suffer pain from surgery but I need to have it to avoid lifetime pain because of the Essure. I think you need to get it too.
