Three years ago I began to notice my menstral cycles were off and I had heavier bleeding. Each cycle got worse until a year later I ended up in the ER due to cramping that felt like childbirth yet I was not pregnant. The OB/GYN recommended a NovaSure procedure (uterine ablation) and the insertion of Essure to prevent pregnancy. During that surgery, the doctor said I had what he believed was Adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis). For about a year after the surgery everything was good and while I still had a period, it was not the severity that I had before the procedures nor was it as long. Then 9 months ago I began to notice weird things each month, one of which was a ‘pinching’ sensation About two days after I ovulated. I documented everything and when I began to have severe pain about a month ago, I made an appointment with my OB/GYN. After he performed a pelvic exam and ruled out numerous things, he ordered a sonogram. Today he told me he would need to do a Hysterectomy because not only was I experiencing negative effects from NovaSure, he also confirmed that the Essire was coming out of my Fallopian tube. Now the doc has to remove my uterus, my tubes and possibly my ovaries if he can’t just get the tubes without damaging the ovaries… Thanks Essure!
