I had the Essure procedure done in 2010, they had given me vicodin, valuim, ibuprofen and a blocker before the procedure. When the doctor entered the first coil on my right side the pain hurt so bad that it had me in tears. I felt at that time that it was not supposed to hurt that bad being on that much pain killers. Since I have had the procedure, I have had awful periods. I cramp so bad, it actually feels like someone is taking a knife and ripping my insides out. I have to take prescribed pain killers to relieve the pain. I bleed so bad now, I actually went from wearing regular size tampons to super plus. I go through almost 2 boxes of tampons a month. I have also experienced depression and anxiety for the last three years. I am not sure if it is related, but never had this issue before. The depression is so bad that I actually cut chunks out of my hair. Last year I ended up in the hospital with such bad pain on my right side that the doctor thought I might be having appendicitis. They ran all kinds of test but couldn’t come up with anything so they decided it was probably a kidney stone but couldn’t prove that it was, now I wonder if it has to do with the coils in me. Also, I have had numerous rashes come and go for no reason. I went to the doctors’s 3 times feeling like there is something wrong with the Essure and was told it wasn’t possible. I went to the doctor again 2 weeks ago and the doctor didn’t want to hear what I was asking or saying. Her answer is that I am perimenopause. The problem with that is that my regualr doctor did blood test last year and told me that I was not. When I brought it up to the latest doctor she told me he had not run test, so I emailed him and asked if he should run test, his answer: I did test last year and find it not necessary to do it at this time. The reason being is that I have to have a hysterectomy. I would not ever suggest any woman do this procedure, I have regretted it since the day I did it.
