I had essure procedure done at age of 32. The procedure itself was very painful and nothing like what my doctor said. She told me I will be done in about 20-25 minutes, but the procedure last for 50 minutes without any pain medication. She couldn’t find my other ovary and I felt like I am being raped by this woman on that chair. After few months I went to checkup and they told me everything was blocked. I was very happy about that and thought my worries are over. I wish. For the next 5 years I had laparoscopy done because my doctor thought I have endometriosis and that was causing my pain. After the procedure, she said it was a very mild case and not sure if that was the cause of the pain. I was sent to urologist and was told that my pelvic was too tight and that I need physical therapy. I did that for few months, but didn’t see much improvement. My urologist did trigger point injections to my pelvic couple of times and that would only give me temporary relief. After start reading about my symptoms I came across the site with women that had essure done and similar symptoms. The cramps are very painful and intercourse hurts. I am not sure what else is there for me to do accept hysterectomy, but I am afraid that is going to mess up my hormones for rest of my life. I would never suggest essure to anyone, not even to my worst enemy.
