I had the Essure device installed in March 2014 and although an excruciatingly painful process…. since I have never given birth I was told it wasn’t going to be an issue, but mid insertion the pain was unbearable and my OBGYN forced it up finally. The look on his face and the nurse’s during the procedure because of my pain and the amount of blood I lost was unbelievable – I almost passed out both from the pain and amount of blood I saw. All was fine until 2 days ago when my internist told me I was pregnant! At 42 my husband and I decided we were beyond having children so I had the device installed so that after 21 years of being on the Pill I would have a more permanent solution.
No warnings, no education, nothing but this is a great alternative and permanent! No surgery, no pain, no downtime and no risks is what my OBGYN told me.
Last week I went to the doctor with complaints of fatigue and unrelenting nausea and after some blood work…. PREGNANT! You’re careful and responsible for 22 years and this is now the decision that my husband and I face. We made the personal and private decision to not have children and did everything to avoid terminating a pregnancy… responsible birth control user for 21 years and then Essure for the last year with the same man.
For me I would take the pain any day of the week than do what lies ahead now for us.
I feel bad for you. I had the Essure implants done three years ago. I haven’t felt “right” since they are implanted. I bleed for many months but my doctor dismissed them. I suffer from headaches and ‘m completely exhausted all the time. My stomach is always bloated and I gained a lot of weight. The bleeding is very heavy and I have horrible cramping. I blame the Essure! Am I crazy. I think I am NOT!
I’ve noticed that I’m staying more tired then before essure and yet can’t sleep and if I eat what little I’ve been able to for over a week now I’m cramping and in the bathroom I’ve had ehell since 2011
