My name is Nikki Simons. I’m 31 and had the essure procedure done 5 weeks after I gave birth to my 5th child in 2010. My doctor couldn’t get it to deploy in my right side so I only have the left. He said he tried three different packs and none of them would deploy into my right tube. So he tried to get it out. When he attempted to remove it from my left tube he punctured my uterus! Since that happened I started to fill with fluid and because they’re was no where for it to go I aspirated during surgery! Next thing I knew I was in ICU a week later!
I was having arterial blood drawn every 4 hours and it was getting worse. I had one quarter of my left lung that I could breathe. The right was completely full of fluid! On top of that I got pneumonia! 8 liters of fluid around my lungs! Now my lungs are scarred and I have to have breathing treatments.
Recentley, I went to the ER for severe lower abdominal pain. This was more intense than usual. I thought I had a cyst or something that had ruptured! I was taken in to have a CT scan and the doctor came in and told me my ensure was displaced! It’s not even in my Fallopian tube!!! She said that was the reason for my intense pain. I just thought that the pain I have was from severe cramping that time of the month and never attributed it my essure.
So, this Friday October 11th it is coming out!!!! I hope they are able to get it out safely and I wake up at home!
