Hello Everyone,
My name is Paula Rose. I had the Essure procedure done in November of 2009. I am 37 years old and for the past 2 years I had very serious pain around my lower abdomen area. This pain gets worse during my periods and several weeks after. The pain is so severe that it will keep me up at night and the pain is comparable to going into labor. During my period the spasms along with the normal spasms during a women’s menstrual cycle can keep me off my feet and at times myself, family, and fiancee can even see my lower abdomen contract and release. Recently I have developed multiple allergies and on and off leg pain in both of my legs so bad that even pain medication cannot relieve.
I am a nurse, and have been for 8 years. I know my body very well and its anatomy. The chronic off and on ache and spasms are in my lower abdomen on the right and left sides. I know for a fact that these are where my fallopian tubes sit. I have very long menstrual cycles lasting almost up to 2 weeks. I do have on and off break through bleeding. Like many women I have been told that it is not from the Essure devices. I cannot handle the pain much longer and would like to continue to work in my profession. I am a single mother of a 11 year old boy and about to become a mother to two precious little ones, a girl 3 and a boy 6.
I want the Essure device removed! My health insurance, however, will not cover the procedure. I was not told of the side effects of this device. I went to the company website for some help but got none. All they would say is that there are no complications or reactions with the device. They say I must be suffering from another condition.
I am a nurse and I am very well educated and versed on medical conditions. I know for a fact that this pain that I suffer and the long menstruation and break through bleeding is not a separate medical condition. I was fine until about a year after the devices were placed. Previously, before I have Essure implanted, I had two copper wire IUD’s placed. Both IUD’s were expelled from my body, with both arms fully extended. This knowledge was made aware to my OBGYN prior to having the Essure placed. I voiced my concern with the Essure device being expelled as well. I was reassured that this would not happen. Well, I think it is happening.
I have never felt pain like this outside of child birth. Please help us!! On behalf of my soon-to-be new family and I, we beg for some help. I would gladly love to have the Essure removed to restore a normal life without pain to be able to keep up with my children. I there is a fund or some kind of financial help to assist in payment to get them removed, I would love to hear some ideas. My fiancee and I have heard of the Chapel Hill doctors that can remove them. I want other women to know what they are about to get implanted into their bodies before having the procedure done. As a nurse and a patient we have the right to knowledge and information on what we are about to have placed in our bodies.
Tearfully Yours, Paula Rose
