I had the essure procedure done in 2012, one month after having my daughter. The ob/gyn highly recommended it. He said it was more effective than the tubal ligation and that the side effects were minimal if any. I did not experience symptoms the first year. However, the following years, which is now going on four years, have been a nightmare, that is getting worse. My monthly cycles are painful with debilitating cramps. The cramps are not only in my abdominal area, but in my legs and back. Sometimes I feel like I am getting ready to give birth.  Not only are they painful, but my cycles can last up to almost 4 weeks.  I am a teacher and on my feet all day. Imagine the feeling of going in to work with this nightmare. I am standing there, feeling these massive blood clots and almost gushing flow coming out of you. Needless to say, I have to use what I call diapers, which need to be changed almost on an hourly basis.  When I first brought it up to my doctor, he dismissed it and said it was probably due to stress and life style. So, he recommended exercise and a handful of vitamin supplements.  That of course, didn’t fix resolve any of my issues.  Once in a blue moon, maybe twice a year, I will skip one month, but then I feel like the following month, it comes back with a vengeance.  Imagine having your cycle, a heavy cycle at that, for three weeks straight!  What do you think that has done for my marriage? I have had significant weight gain, depression, anxiety, extreme fatigue, and pain. I barely have the energy to play with my 5 year old dsughter. I am seriously considering a partial hysterectomy but what am I supposed to do now? I cannot afford to have this procedure reversed.  I have honestly suffered so much because of this.  I literally feel like I was misled, and then ignored, when I brought up my concerns.  What can I victim like myself do at this point? Please advise.
