Just wow! So literally last week I was scheduled to have an MRI conducted for my brain. I informed the technician that I had the Essure implants just to ensure that it was ok for the MRI. I had the implants so long ago (I’m 54 now) that I couldn’t even remember their name. so I did some online research to try and find the name so that I could accurately inform the technician. Low and behold, I find out all of these problems numerous women are having as a result of these implants. And, yes, guess what? For the past 10 years I’ve had severe pelvic and back pain in which I’ve been treated for chronic bladder infections. I will admit, I didn’t even think that the implants would have caused any of my issues, but WOW – after findings out of these problems, I now truly believe that my pain has been caused by these implants. I went to my urologist just this week, yet again for more pelvic and back pain, thinking I had a UTI, and guess what – his comment was, I do not think this is a UTI/bladder problem. I then said, ya know, I have been reading about these birth control implants I had several years ago – do you think this may be causing my pain? He scheduled a cat scan for me next week. Just WOW! I’m honestly stunned and mad. Mostly mad at myself for being such an idiot and so willingly let my gyn. convince me to have these implanted. I should have known better. My mom was a product of the dalkon shield and that was disastrous. Lesson learned, do not be the guinea pig for any new products even if they’re recommended by a doctor.
I’ll provide an update once I receive the results of my c-scan.
This year will be three years of pain for me. Looking back, I should have put it all together, but I didn’t. I found this website and t all makes sense now. The pain and suffering has been horrible and I put the blame on the Essure.
