I had the essure coils put in in 2009. One ended up migrating from my fallopian tube and was found during a laproscopic procedure for pelvic pain and bloating. It was removed and the other one was still in place. I ended up having a total hysterectomy in 2013. In a recent x-ray at my chiropractor’s office discovered a small piece of metal in my right abdomen. It turns out it is the small wire that runs through the essure coil. The doctor who removed the coil from my abdomen was not familiar with the product and didn’t realize there was another piece to it lost elsewhere in my body and says, after researching the product, that it is not supposed to come apart like that. Now I need a CT scan and another laproscopic surgery to remove it because it is causing pain/irritation in my right side. I had my gall bladder taken out in 2012 due to pain in my right side. They did tests on it and it seemed to be functioning within normal range, but because of the ongoing side pain, they removed it and discovered it was chronically inflamed. I asked my OB/GYN doctor if the metal wire near the organ could have caused the irritation and inflamation on the gall bladder and she thought it was possible. To my disappointment the side pain never totally went away after having my gall bladder removed, but now I know why. I don’t know if I should hire a lawyer for all of this or just get the last of it removed and be done with it and move on. It’s been a difficult 5 years already.
