I had the Essure procedure placed in 2012. I had it checked after the 3 month mark to confirm closure. It still was not closed. Then a month later I had it checked again. Let me tell you how painful it was to have it checked to make sure is was a success. Not to mention having to get radiation exposure and dye which is hard on the kidneys. So now we are at time two to check for success. I had to have the doctor write me a script for an antianxiety medication to take so I could relax. So of course no luck. Still one of tubes could not be confirmed as closed. My doctor at this point has said she thought it was a bad test and that I should get it retested for confirmation. Oh boy! So I did about a week later. I went through the same gruling pain again, radiation and dye to find out the tube is still not blocked. I was so disapointed. My doctor says I was her only failure. So now what. I paid a lot of money to get the procedure done and now I am back at square one! I am stuck with metal coils in my body that can’t be removed unless you get a hystrectomy and that serve no purpose. I went for this procedure for the same reason most women did. I hope that I will be fortunate not to experience some of the symptoms a lot of these other poor woman have had to go through. I hope Erin B can make a difference and justice be served.
