I got the Essure procedure done in April of 2011 after the birth of my second child. I waited the six weeks after having him, then went in 3 months after having the procedure and everything seemed fine. Currently however I feel like I have many complications due to this Essure procedure. My cramps have become much more intense over the last couple of years, and I seem to have a very heavy flow. There always tend to be a dull ache, more specifically on my right side, but I do get mild to severe cramping at random times of the month. I am one of those women who experience ovulation cramps. Ever since having the Essure procedure my ovulation cramps are sometimes unbearable, and are always worse than my ‘period’ cramps. Another huge factor to my dissatisfaction with Essure is how painful sex has become. Having my sex with my husband of 8 years has gone from enjoyable to uncomfortable and painful. I also tend to have after sex cramps that are also extremely severe and painful. I’m not sure if the two are related but it also seems much harder to lose weight. I have never ate more healthy in my life, or exercised more, but whatever I do I can’t seem to lose the weight. Doctor appointments and possible surgeries are going to get expensive, but I will do whatever it takes to not have to live with cramps, pain, and no sex life. I was glad to hear and see that I am not the only person experiencing these issues. It is unfortunate that we as women have to have such complications with something that was supposed to make our life easier and to not have to worry about getting pregnant. It seems we have to worry about much more than that now.
