In 2012 after the birth of my daughter I decided to get fixed. I had my son in 2007, a miscarriage in 2011, and my daughter in 2012. I knew I was content with just two children and I inquired about getting my tubes tied. I was informed that the hospital I gave birth in was catholic and they did not do this type of procedure. My OBGYN mentioned the Essure procedure, said it could be performed in office and there would be no down time, just some mild cramping and said that the success rate was great. I was given a pamphlet that mostly listed positive details about the procedure. Since my Essure implants 3 years ago I have had problem after problem. I never liked going back to the doctor before all of this but now it seems like always there. First I noticed my periods were significantly heavier and lasted longer and I had horrible cramps. Eventually I begin to get stomach cramps all of the time. My stomach always feels bloated and cramps constantly. Then I began getting migraines off and on. Now I get migraines all of the time. At least once a week and they last 2-3 days. The migraines get so bad that I can barely function and I get nauseous and actually vomit sometimes. Then, as if everything else wasn’t bad enough; out of nowhere I started having back spasms that would come and go. This lasted awhile. In 2014, I started having bad back spasms and my legs would go numb and then one day I just couldn’t hardly walk. A walk across my living room that was normally quick, now took me about 4 or 5 minutes. I went to the ER they did X-Rays and at my follow-up with my doctor I was sent for and MRI. A couple days later I was sent to a specialist and a couple days after that, on Valentine’s Day 2014, I had my first back surgery. In June 2014 I had my second back surgery. My back feels better than it did prior to the surgeries but I am in constant pain. My back was fine before I had Essure Implants. My body constantly aches, I am always tired no matter how much sleep I get and I am moody and easily agitated. My whole body just feels sore and tired on a daily basis and I am just waiting for the day that my body just gives out. I don’t feel like myself anymore. My migraines have progressed and I am miserable. I go see a neurologist in a couple days for my migraines. I went today for a pap and I was told that my female parts did not feel like someone who had given birth to two kids. I was told my feminine parts felt like a woman who had went through menopause. I am only 32!! We discussed all of the problems I have been having and my doctor is convinced that all of my problems could stem from my Essure implants but wants me to discuss all of this with a Gynecologist who knows a little more about the implants and so now I am scheduled to see a Gynecologist Specialist. I have been to the doctor and have had blood work and nothing explains why I feel the way I do. My sister-in-law came across an article about Essure problems and when I read it I was appalled. Everything that I have been feeling and going through was in this article. I then found out about the Essure Problems website by Erin Brockovich and have read a real stories and it’s just unreal to me that so many women are going through and experiencing the exact same symptoms as I am. I am a 32 year old that feels like I have the body of an 80 year old. I would definitely not recommend Essure to anyone! All of my problems started after I had the Essure implants and not a day goes by that I don’t regret getting them.
I am glad I have read these stories.Thank you for saving me from making this mistake! I am so very sorry
