Thousands of Women Report Severe Adverse Reactions to Essure

Women are coming forward to talk about their experiences with a permanent form of birth control called Essure.

They’re describing it in stark terms: “It’s a constant pain that doesn’t go away,” one woman said. “It felt like barbed wire inside of me,” according to another. “It’s excruciating,” a third woman said.

    I thought I had done enough research about this procedure, doctors never told me of serious reactions that could develop from this ESSURE procedure. Apparently I did not do enough research until after my procedure. If I had known then what I know now, I would have had second thoughts about going through with getting the procedure and would have asked more questions. I feel partly responsible because I didn’t ask the doctors the right questions.

    I had mine done I’m June I bled forever and now I’m constantly hurting in my left side feeling sick to my stomach constantly this past week and im scared to death because I just read that the ensure can move and end up perforating ur colon are these problems y’all have had as well?

    I have even tried describing my pains and I can’t other than it feels as it I have cysts constantly rupturing inside my left side! I bled for three months str8 after my procedure but I also had a ckc done at the same time but since I stopped bleeding I have yet to start my cycle I have gained thirty pounds or more so bye bye self esteem no only has essure disturbed my life physically but also mentally emotionally and sexually sometimes the pain is so horrible i can’t even have sex with my husband not to mention my mood swings I guess due to me not having a cycle and only being 28 yes old…

    I got the Essure procedure done in June 2011 I’ve been in pain ever since I did not know until a couple of weeks ago that it could be do to essure….could somebody please school me on how to tell and use the correct words to my doctor.
