I had my last baby in April of 2010. At this point I was 32 years old with 3 boys so I elected to have the Essure procedure done knowing I did not want to have anymore children. I was reminded several times by my OB/GYN the procedure was irreversable and I was perfectly okay with that. I knew for a fact my baby making days were done. My procedure was then scheduled for June 2010. The procedure itself went about as smoothly as one could and I was up and moving again within a matter of hours. The first couple months I did notice some sharp pains in my left side periodically but nothing of real concern at that point. Then approx. 6 months after the implantation I started to have flair ups of cervicitis. These flair ups would last anywhere from 4-10 days. I have since experianced severe back pain, sharp pains in either side of the cervcal area and I have battled approx. a dozen or more episodes of cervicitis in the last 4 1/2 years and I have also struggled to get my energy level back to where it was prepregnancy. I have always been a fairly active person but most days its a fight to get through the regular everyday activities; grocery shopping, making dinner, basic housework etc…I’m just worn out all the time. I didn’t relate the issues to the procedure until I started seeing all the horror stories from other recipients of Essure and it dawned on me all these problem may very well be the side effects of Essure. At this point all I can do is hope and pray for some type of solution for myself and all the ladies dealing with similar problems.
I hope hysterectomy is the answer to your problem.
