After I had my daughter in March 2012, my Doctor talked me into getting the Essure instead of a Tubal, by saying that it was a much easier procedure, that there was no recovery and that it would cost me less than surgery.
I had the Essure implanted in July 2012 and just had my test done Nov 30th to confirm that my tubes are blocked. First let me just say that I had the test done at a local hospital, it hurt so bad and I have been bleeding ever since. Since the Essure was put in me I have had awful periods, headaches and pain in my lower right and left sides.
Before Essure I had light, 6 days of a period every 28 days or so, and now I am having a period every 18-21 days and it’s horrible. They start so heavy and only get worse. I usually use 2 boxes of tampons per period and always have to keep a pad on as well. One tampon last me about 45 minutes.
I have 3 kids and it takes all I have in me to function in my job and with my family during my periods. I have made me an appointment to see if I can have the Essure removed. Maybe if I can get it out of my body by the end of the year I will not have to pay the $5,000 to have it removed since I meet my out of pocket cost on my insurance when I had them put in.
