I had several complications in getting and carrying my pregnancies. after my second daughter was born I decided to use a permanent birth control. I was concerned about the down time after getting a tubal so I asked my doctor about any other options. He suggested the Essure due to the fact that I could go back to work the next day. I asked about complications and he told me that there would only be some swelling and a little discomfort for a couple months while everything healed. This was a price I was willing to pay to be able to continue working. I was not however preparred to deal with all of the other side effects. My mentraul cycles started lasting for weeks at a time.. in some cases it lasted for months. The swelling gets so severe that I am not able to wear normal clothing. The pain extends to my entire abdomen and when it is at its peak in pain and swelling you can actually feel the Essure device..the device also shifts so it feels like it is stabbing me. I get severe migraines and dizzyness, as well as a variety of other side effects, that causes me to not be able to function with work or my family. When I started to connect all of my syymptoms to the Essure I tried to seek medical assistance. I was told there is nothing to prove a link between the ranging side effects. I then tried to seek out legal assistance, they told me that unless a doctor proves that they are all connected there is nothing that can be done. I started seeking out others who have had the procedure and in comparing stories and symptoms I realized we all had similar problems and were told similar things from doctors and attorneys. It has been 2 years and I am still suffering and so is my family. Due to my age I cannot get approved for a hysterectomy unless a medical proffesional deems it to be an emergency.
