I am currently 23 years old with two children. After complications with the second I decided I never wanted to get pregnant again. First, my doctor recommend the IUD. After 3 weeks I felt it scratching me and bad pain. Went in and they said it had fell out so they removed it. My only other choice I wanted was to be fixed. My doctor told me my only option was laproscopic surgery or the Essure procedure. She highly recommended the Essure for me because I was only supposed to uncomfortable for a couple days with mild cramping following for 2 weeks. Not only that, but that we could flush the dye up there to guarantee the process. After my procedure they told my fiance she was 95÷sure one wasn’t in there but couldn’t tell. I felt terrible for a week and ended up going to the er. They told me I had a UTI and did a ultrasound but could only see 1 coil. They couldn’t get my medical files from them, so told me to return to my OB the following day. That night I started getting terrible hot flashes and would start dripping sweat. I was in so much pain and felt like I was having Contraction and almost as if my coils were pinching me. My OB had a CT scan done, gave me antibiotics and more pain meds. Also swabbed to test for infection. I returned a week later and was still in pain. She showed me a picture from my CT scan and it was showing the coil and been put in too far, but that it should be okay. She said it may not be in place so may not be effective and we would find out in three months when they’d shoot that dye up there. No infection and also, so took a stool sample to make sure of no secondary infection. Told me to come back in a week and if I wasn’t feeling better she was going to have to remove my tubes. So I went back to her, which was Monday. I still feel absolutely terrible and have hot flashes and pain all day everyday. I wake up several times at night drenched in sweat. She told me no secondary infection and she was gonna remove my tubes because she thinks I might be having some kind of reaction to the metal in the coils. My surgery is scheduled for September 9, 2014. If I knew I was gonna have to go through all this, then I would not have gotten it. The pamphlet she gave me sounded wonderful. Once I started looking up online all the issues I was having and seen everyone else’s I realized it was a horrible mistake. I felt like I was a guinea pig to this procedure and I’d advise no woman to EVER consider the ESSURE procedure!!!
