Today is May 4 2014 and it is 10pm est.
I had another one of my horrible headaches today, this is day two. The pain is so sharp and constant that the only relief is to hold pressure against both sides and squeeze them together.. When the headache finally subsides your left with dizzy and nausea feeling . I can hardly remember anything and feel like I am intoxicated. I have leg cramps and spasms at least two to three times a week. My legs hurt me so bad that I will sit in scalding hot water , just hoping that it numbs them enough to fall asleep. My periods are the worst I have ever experienced from day 1 to day 7 .
None of these problems did I experience, except the occasional headache that a sinus pill would resolve, before essure procedure.
Almost 5 years ago I gave birth to my 4th healthy child, and had decided to get my tubs tied. My doctor insisted on Essure. With four little ones at home and my husband in the military, the option of coming home the same day with no recovery period needed, sounded great. What she didnt tell me was:
I was her first procedure, ( I heard her talking about it while she was doing it).
I wasnt told that it could possibly not work and have to be redone.
She didnt tell me that it was gonna be , the most tramatic, horrific, terrifying experience I have ever been through.
They start out by ‘opening you up’ with some type of device, dialating you down there. When they finally get to where they need to , I remember the smell of metal and feeling something sting and burning inside me. I have given birth to a child without any pain meds , that was painful, this was worse. The amount of blood alone was something out of a horror film. The pain was impossible to describe . I felt like I was being tortured and now feel like I was a human guinea pig. I remember crying so hard, I remember wishing it would end soon. I remember hurting for days and days afterwords.
Weeks later, you return to have them check and see if the Essure procedure actually worked. This is very painful, they insert dye into your tubes and then xray you. The shot caused spasms and made me cramp a lot. When she told me it didnt take, that theres not enough scar tissue and we would have to redo the surgery, I will never forget how fast I answered her . NO NO NO NO
To my understanding, I can now get pregnant in the tube a lot easier than before the surgery because it is only partially blocked by the coil. As terrifying as this thought is, I will still never ever ever let them do this procedure to me again.
When I read about this procedure, and researched online, nowhere did I read a negative remark or concern. I wish I had.
My life has been changed and these headaches, leg cramps and horrible periods will never go away.
Do not use this as a form of birth control and do not let your doctor do what they did to me.
