Hi, my name is Heather Stanfield and I to had Essure after my third child. When I went back for the dye test I was told the left side worked but the right side did not, in fact the coil punctured through my right tube leaving a hole in it. When they scheduled my surgery to go back and take the device out and tie my tube which is what I should have done in the first place, I found out that I was in fact pregnant with my fourth child. Drs. tried spinning it on me saying that the fact I was able to get pregnant with one tube and it having a hole in it was a miracle so I didn’t think much of it. After I gave birth I was scheduled another surgery in which they were supposed to take out both the Essure coils and just do a regular tubal ligation, however, they didn’t I was told that they couldn’t see the coils so they left them there…. I am now experiencing heavy heavy menstrual cycles and I have been broke out in hives for almost a month. I feel so debilitated do to the itching and I am trying to find a dr to see what I can do now. My hives are turning into bruises after the redness subsides in that area and then more appear every day I have scars on my arms that these hives are leaving and I have taken so much benadryl that it doesn’t even work anymore I have tried so many anti-itch creams that nothing works. I am in sever agony day in and say out and I wasn’t even aware that the coils had nickel in them until recently and I do have an allergy to nickel not a major but if I was to wear nickel it would turn my skin green and a small rash but now instead its all over my body. I am wanting answers myself as to why they feel there is no need to know about the nickel content in the ESsure.
