This is my essure nightmare. I had the essure inserted on June 15, 2006. I was 24 years old, married with 4 children. I wanted to have my tubes tied but my doctor would not do it and sent me to one who inserts the essure. Of course they made it sound wonderful, so I agreed. It quickly turned into a nightmare. Within a few months I had very painful frequent and heavy menstruals. As months went on I began feeling worse, back aches that would wake me out of sound sleeps, abdominal pain, hair loss, fatigue and much more. Nobody could find the cause. After many tests they found gall stones and said my gall bladder needed to be removed. When the doctor removed it he said it was all rotten, I thought I would feel better but didn’t. Years later I finally found a doctor that would actually listen to me about the essure and helped me find a gyn that would remove it. He did exploratory surgery and found they had broken through my tubes. He removed that part along with endometriosis, cysts and fixed my bowels. I began to feel better until a few months later when the fatigue came back along with the hair loss, pain, and bleeding. I had an X-ray which showed fragments in my abdomen. I am now waiting to see a new doctor to most likely do a hysterectomy. Getting the essure put in was the biggest mistake of my life, it has not only affected me but it has affected my husband, children, and parents.
