I went in to have the essure procedure. I was told it would only take a few minutes in the doctor’s office. I was able to watch the doctor on the screen the whole time. He tried to put the coil in on my right side It was very uncomfortable but successful. I was squeezing the nurses hand so hard I thought I was going to die. Then he tried to put it in on my left side. The device broke and went into my uterus. I saw the look on his face like oh crap! He was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Then he finally told me that the device broke and I had to go in for emergency surgery to have the divice removed from my uterus. They called essure and had a representative sit in my surgery to see what happened. I had surgery and since I was under I had him tie my tubes. He was not able to remove the coil in my right side. So now I have my tubes tied and this coil in my right side. Soon after this happened I was diagnosed with ms. I do believe this coil brought on ms symptons. I would not recommend this to any one. I would get so mad when I kept hearing them advertise this on the radio. I just wanted to scream! Only ten minutes in my office. The doctor that did my surgery kept blowing me off. I was only able to see his partner. I no longer go to this doctor. In fact I haven’t seen any obgyn. since. I’m having a hard time trying to go back. I did contact a lawyer but he didn’t seem to think that I had a case. I didn’t persue anything because my insurance finally paid the bill. At first they didn’t want to because they don’t cover the removal of birth control devices.
