My name is Kayla. I am 25 years old and have 2 children, 8 year old son and now 10 month old daughter.
My husband and I decided 2 was a good number for us, so I made an appointment to talk about getting Tubal Ligation with my doctor. She acted like I was was crazy because the ‘Essure’ was so much easier and an in and out procedure. So of course, she talked me in to it. Wish I would have never let that happen.
I had the Essure procedure done on April 6, 2013, 6 weeks after the birth of my daughter. The procedure went okay, although it took longer than expected because my doctor had trouble placing the coils because of scarring already in my tubes. After the procedure, I felt fine, except for bleeding (still bleeding to this day 9 months after the procedure.) Weeks later, I had the HCG test and the tubes were confirmed blocked. Well about a month after having the procedure, still bleeding, and bloating, and very bad cramping, I called the doctor and the said it was from having the ‘Depo shot’ before the procedure, she said it could take 3 months to ware off, so I went with that. Then about 5 months later still bleeding and all, I called again and they played it off, as always – I called a few more times about the bleeding within the months up until now and they finally had me come in, I told her about the pain and everything and she had an vaginal ultrasound done on me that day. They found that I had cysts on my ovaries (which isn’t uncommon) and that one of my coils had migrated up in to my uterine wall. She acted like it wasn’t a big deal, although she said she doesn’t see it a whole lot… So she ended up putting me on birth control pills to try and help regulate the bleeding, but said if that wasn’t working then she would go in and SNIP the half of the coil that was in my uterine wall off. That kind of freaked me out a little..I just don’t know. But as of now, I am taking the birth control pills, although I forget A LOT to take them everyday lol. So my bleeding has been off and on a lot, but extremely heavy at times and still a lot of bad cramping and bloating. This hasn’t been at all what I thought it was going to be. I really wish I would have just had the Tubal ligation done and just be normal now! I haven’t been a very happy person every since this procedure.
