I had the essure procedure done in March 17, 2011 (37 yrs old). Before having the procedure done I was running 2 – 3 miles 5 days a week and doing aroebic exercises 2 -3 days a week. I was told by my OBGYN that this was a safe & easy procedure with very minumal recovery time as opposed to a tubligation. They first few months I noticed that my period was heavier but I thought it might just be my body getting use to the springs & rods. By July of 2011 my periods were extremely heavy (the heaviest they’d been up to that point) and clotting that I had never had before. Before having the procedure my periods were 3-5 days long and now I am lucky not to have my period 3-5 days out of the month and with large amounts of clotting, and when I am not bleeding I have large amounts of discharging. I have been getting treated for migranes/headaches for the last year and half and very little helps to make them go away. My left hip has been in a lot of pain for about 2 years (enough pain that I can no longer do any exercising & I miss it terribly). I am at the heaviest that I have ever been and am unable to do much to lose weight. I have called the Dr who preformed the procedure several times and they will not return my calls. I have an appointment tomorrow with a new Dr to discuss my options and hopefully will be able to get rid of the springs & rods which will hopefully give me my life back. I would not recommend anyone to have this procedure done.
