I was told about the Essure Procedure when I was pregnant with my daughter back in 2006. All I was told was that there would be light bleeding and light pain for two days and that to make sure that I didnt want to have anymore children because after having this procedure done I wouldnt be able to have any more children and if I wanted the inserts removed, there was still a chance I couldnt have any more children. Well 6 weeks after I gave birth to my daughter I had the Essure Procedure done and just like they said light bleeding and little pain for two days!! Well a year and a half went by and I didnt start my period and my periods alway came on the day that they were suppose to so I knew I was Pregnant. I went to the local Health Department and confirmed that I was pregnant!! I called the Essure people to ask what happens if you get pregnant after having the procedure done. The lady on the phone was quick to tell me that NO ONE has ever gotten pregnant after having the Essure procedure!! I told her I was pregnant!! The lady wasnt very nice!! I called a few doctor and they all said I had to go to the doctor that done the procedure so I made an appointment. When I went to my appointment the nurse told me there is no way I could be pregnant and that I was suppose to use protection for 3 months. I told her it was a year and a half since I had the procedure done. She said well there is no way you are pregnant. So after peeing in the cup and waiting she comes back and tell me Im pregnant. (Well since it was my body I already knew I was pregnant) so for the next few weeks I had to have bloodwork done to see if I was going to have a normal pregnancy. The higher the blood count is the more I was actually carrying a baby. All during my pregnancy I worry that something would be wrong with my son. I didnt gain but 12 lbs while being pregnant with him. The day I deliver him. My mother asked the doctor what kind of problems would this procedure cause for her grand child. The doctor told my mother it was my fault. Then after I deliver my son that took the sac that he was in to the lab. I asked why and she said they always do but I dont remember my first son or daughter’s sac being taking to the lab. After having the procedure done I have back aches where I cant stand for long periods of time. When I was able to work I couldnt stand for 8 hours my back would be killing me after standing for an hour. Its hurts when I sit, bend over, lay down. I have trouble sleeping because my back is in so much pain. I have uterus pains during personal moments to point I want to cry!! I feel older than my age!! My son is 4 years old now and he has trouble speaking. None of my other children have this problem!! Thank you for reading my story.
